EXCERPT FROM THE INTRODUCTION

She dwells on the terrorist attack against the USS Cole in the Gulf of Yemen and the immediate U.S. government response. Subsequently, Angela was asked to attend a secret meeting at which, CIA Director George Tenant, presidential aide Ben Skinner, FBI Director Louis Freeh, and the Joint Military Chiefs of Staff outline a plan to send two Black Hawk attack helicopters armed with hellfire missiles and 30mm cannon to soften up Bin Laden’s safe house location near Abyan, Yemen Subsequently, a separate Black Hawk lands three minutes later with its Special Forces trained crew and the four CIA operatives to mop up, capture bin Laden alive if possible, and bring him back to the U.S. for trial. Angela is asked to form an operational team and she accepts. Her suggestion that the four member team become an eight member team was denied. Her argument that the helicopter could not comfortably carry four operatives and equipment was ignored. Her next suggestion that a CIA operative be sent covertly into the target area, twelve hours prior to the attack was also denied. She argued that they would not have first hand, on the spot intelligence while her team was enroute to the target area. She also asked for permission to contact the Brit agent herself, to see if he had additional information relative to the layout of the house and knowledge of the surrounding area. This was denied.
