A BUSY OCTOBER
Wow, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I hope that everyone’s life is going well. I want to thank all of you who took the time to comment and also to apologize for waiting so long to post. I can’t believe that it’s almost October, but I’ll be thankful when the cooler weather moves in. I’ll try to catch everyone up on what’s been happening in my world.
My Wicked Vampire hits the shelves today. It’s the fourth book in the Castle of Dark Dreams series. I want you to know that I chose the Castle of Dark Dreams as my setting because of all the people who responded to a question I asked on an earlier blog. More people seemed to want my next Ganymede and Sparkle book to be set at the castle, so here it is.
Right now I’m working on my next Gods of the Night book. I still haven’t chosen a title. I’m in the process of gathering together all the great titles that you guys suggested on Myspace and taking a good long look at them. This book is Utah’s story. And our heroine is Lia. We met her for the first time in Eternal Craving. What could be better conflict than a hero who hates vampires and a woman who leads them? By the way, with the soon-to-be released mega movie 2012, the Mayan calendar will be on everyone’s radar. Let’s hear it for the Mayan calendar. Hmm, do you think Steven Spielberg would be interested in a concept that merges Jurassic Park with 2012? I guess not. Sigh.
I’m about to remodel my condo. My designer must think that I was a crow in a past life. I keep choosing bright and shiny things. I’m using glass tiles for my walk-in shower, and whenever she suggests something a little less…sparkly, I ignore her. But at least she’s been able to restrain me to the point that I’ll have neutral paint on the walls. By the way, has anyone ever used glass tiles in their shower? How did they hold up?
As much as I’m anticipating my new-look condo, I’m not looking forward to moving out while the work is being done. The same friend (Gerry Bartlett-Real Vampires Have Curves series) who gave me a place to stay after Ike will again allow Abby and me to park at her home. How far can you stretch friendship before it snaps? But since we both have deadlines, maybe we can nag each other into getting moving on our books.
I have a few events planned for October. I’ll mention them here, but I’ll also post them on my home page and send out a bulletin on Myspace the day before they happen. October 7: chat at FF&P (8:00PM-9:00PM EST). This is the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal chapter of RWA. If you’re a member, stop by. October 20: blog at Fresh Fiction http://FreshFiction.com/blog. October 31: blog at Borders True Romance http://bordersblog.com/trueromance. And yes, there will be prizes. I’m still trying to decide what to blog about. Any burning topics you’d like to see discussed?
If you haven’t seen the My Wicked Vampire video, take a look at it on YouTube. It will also be up on my home page in a few days. I don’t know where they found that guy’s torso, but wow, just wow.
Take care and thanks for all of your support. I truly appreciate it.
