Reading Shelf?

I really have been reading over the last couple of months, whether it looks like it or not. The thing is that most of my recent reading has been e-books -- especially while we were moving and 99.8% of our paper books were in boxes in a warehouse somewhere. And actually, 99.8% of our books are still in boxes, although at least they're within reach now.

But when I read an e-book, I generally read it all in one session, unless it's really humongously long. For whatever reason, I never think to pop onto Goodreads just to add the book to my list and mark it "Reading!" and then come back when I'm done and change it to "Read" I suppose some days I might develop that reflex, but so far, not so much. The only books I've ever had in my "Reading" shelf so far have been non-fiction books, which tend to take me a while to get through, especially if I'm taking notes. If I'm going to be working on a book for weeks or even a couple-few months, then it's worth it to add it to my "Reading" shelf. If I'm going to be done with an e-book an hour or two from now, or even sooner in the case of a short story, it seems sort of pointless to come here just to set it to "Reading." Seriously, is anyone even going to notice in that time? [bemused smile:]

Am I the only one like this?

Angie, who'll go through and add all her e-books to her Goodreads shelves one of these days, weeks months.

Mara Ismine I only put things on the Reading shelf if I haven't finished them within a day or so. I do try and add them as soon as I finished though or I'll forget. But most of my reading is done in one sitting even some of the non-fiction.

Me too. [nod:] I've been listing paper books as soon as I finish them, mainly because I have so few around right now. (My actual library is still packed up.) I only have those on the Reading shelf if it's taking me a while to get through them, and right now that's just the one nonfiction I'm in the middle of.

It's the e-books that're going to take forever; one of these days, in all my copious spare time, I need to start entering my e-books.
