There was a meeting at work to announce changes. For me it means that I have been moved to the retort and baskets full time. I’ll be fully trained up on the retort over the coming months by Jim. After that we will work together sharing all the jobs of doing the retort and loading the baskets with cans ready for cooking. Jim seems happy with it as am I. Actually I am looking forwards to it as I already know how to do the job. I will miss working in the butcher with Wee John as we get on well together sharing the same sense of humour which makes the time go well. Not that I don’t get on with Jim but I know John better having worked with him longer. Still Jim is a good bloke who can have a laugh too.
Still not got any editing done though I have gotten two more roughs, which is something to be grateful for. Having the cold hasn’t helped. My throat is sore with the coughing. Yes I still have it. Like December it seems to be keeping a hold on me. It might be partly due to work as I am usually in and out of the chills all the time. Well I will see in the coming week as I don’t have that problem with the changes that take effect on Monday.
Tammy is still off of school with tonsillitis. She has been put on stronger antibiotics which I hope will help. Her mum tried to get work sent home from school but they told her that she could catch up when she got back to school. I’m not happy with that as I feel that they could have given her something to help her keep up even if it was on a little. Unfortunately there is nothing that I can do to make them give her work. I suppose it will let her rest so she can get better sooner.
