My list of questions from Marie:


1. Why did you start blogging?  Because I had just moved away from my family for the first time ever and it was becoming the trendy thing to do (blogging, that is, not moving away from my family. THAT would sure give them a complex).
2. If you could meet any author alive or dead who would it be and why?  Hmm. A lot of very famous authors were also a bit on the mad side, so I'm not sure I'd want to meet them. Jane Austen seems safe, though she'd probably bemoan my lack of manners.
3. What is your favorite novel that you were forced to read in school? I didn't go to school. Na-na-na-na-na! But I do remember my mom making me read The Iliad and The Odyssey and disliking it immensely. I also didn't like Shakespeare but it sure stuck with me. You should see me rock that category on Jeopardy!    4. If you could travel to any world from a book which would it be and why? Prince Edward Island from Anne of Green Gables. Just because!
5. If you could be friends with any book character who would it be? I'd have to go with Anne again, I expect. We'd be bosom buddies. I'd have to push Diana out of a tree or something.
6. What is your favorite color? Orange.
7. What is your favorite thing about blogging? Comments.
8. What is the one thing that bothers you most in books (pet peeve)? Cliches, predictability, typos. Oh, sorry. You said one thing.
9. What was your favorite book of 2012? A tie: The Scorpio Races or Grave Mercy. Well, except for this one really fabulous book, called Shadows Gray, naturally!
10. Have there been any books that you have read recently that have suprised you? Which ones? I read my first zombie novel, and loved it! "The Scourge."
11. Who is your number one book boyfriend? I must have Anne on the brain again, because I'd have to say Gilbert Blythe.


And now, 11 random facts about me:

1. My middle child and I like to eat our ice cream with a fork. Something about frozen tines make it taste even better.

2. I'm considering shutting down this blog and working on organizing it in non-fiction form.

3. I would really like to either get wall-to-wall carpeting, or de-claw the dog.

4. I kinda want a llama. I'd name it Tina and feed it leftovers. Or I might name it Kronk.

5. I'd have five more babies if only I didn't have to gestate or birth them.

6. I read so much as a kid that I had a running "book" of my life in my head at all times. This caused me to say things like, "she said," after I spoke. Which was really odd and got me strange looks.

7. I have a new niece! I'm pretty sure they're sniffing all the New Baby Smell off her without me, which makes me pout.

8. I keep "discovering" what I think are new, Indie type artists or bands, then realizing they've won Grammys and even my 12 year old knows of them, and then I get all sad, because once talented people get famous, they're just never as good. Can we all pretend you've never heard of Fun.? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

9. I'm going to start practicing Wii Let's Dance when Cora is at school so I can learn the choreography and then seriously wipe the floor with her. I can beat her at Rasputin and Elvis but she totally creamed me on Blondie!! What the heck?

10. I want to bite Downton Abbey's face off. Why are their seasons so short?! One more episode? That's all we get?

11.I can't fulfill the rest of this award's stipulations, because I'm supposed to pass it on to a bunch of little known blogs, and I don't really read blogs much anymore!
