Writing atmosphere

OK, I've actually been making progress on my books and I think that it's because of the atmosphere. I enjoy a good cigar from time to time and what better way to enjoy a cigar than with a nice glass of Chevas Regal scotch right? Well my local cigar shop has a wonderful sitting area where they encourage people to stop and enjoy a cigar. They also allow us to bring in a beverage of choice. The wonderful owners have also encouraged me to bring in my laptop and work on my books in progress. It's a very friendly group who gather here which is both a good and bad thing. Good because it's a diverse group of people who are great to talk to. Bad because I tend to talk instead of writing. But it's worth it. I have a nice warm place to have my cigar, sip my scotch and work on the books.

Though I now tend to smoke more cigars than I had in the past because there's no smoking in my house. In the summer I spend that time out by my pool doing pretty much the same thing but since I live in the New England area and I can't stand the cold I just can't seem to motivate myself write. Now I sit in comfort with my laptop and even though I don't write non-stop I'm making progress on my books.

What about you? Do you have a particular environment that you feel is condusive to writing?

c wylie misselhorn Luckily I don't have to write very often because it is not my passion or my forte, but when I do have to sit down and write a page of web copy (webdesigner), it has to be somewhere quiet with plenty of coffee.

Evelyn Colon Morales Writing for me never came with any comfort .. I recall writing under both turbulent days or escaped into my imagination that gave me any world I wanted to feel free from my skin. I am passionate about writing ever since I learned to read.
Poetry is my greatest lover and there are days I can sit down for hours reading poetry, writing poetry and just like that a short story will come to mind and poof! 'Creation is born. If I had my way for the perfect inspirational setting where I can strip away the ugliness that surrounds my view it will be as follow: A great library filled with books a leather bound seating in front of a flaming fire place, above the fire place one of my favorite art work from MaxField Parrish. More amazing art work surrounding every wall to keep me memorized of what could have been if my life was not kept in solace. Vintage red wine to my left and to my right a great window render in angle to give the most extraordinary view. Wooden floors that creaks as I graciously walk pass to reach for my glass of wine and a beautiful white shag rugged on the floor that sings to me when my toes gently touches it to feel comfort from the cold breeze hissing outside the walls. My lighting by candles infused with lavender and the dog I have always wanted to keep me company when I need attention from writers block. I here gracious music in the back ground keeping me from sleep. There you will find me with a smile writing until the ink pours out of my cinnamon skin.
