So, it's been announced that Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens want the Pope arrested for his involvement in the covering up of child abuse within the Roman Catholic church. It sounds like a joke at first glance. Arrest the Pope? The sort of suggestion that we are predisposed to scoff at because it seems so ludicrous. However, that is rather their point. As a society we are inclined towards dismissing the Pope's culpability because, well, he's the Pope… and he's untouchable, right?
