short short stories

I am currently playing around with writing using the structure of keeping the story to less than 1500 words. It isn't as easy as one might think. I have one on my desktop, for instance, that's really poorly done. I keep it there to remind me of what not to do.

Going on with no aim, no sense of beginning and end, is easy. Coming up with a quality piece of prose is anything but.

I sent two of my efforts to a friend and his response was, "I got your stories. I'll be interested in giving you my feedback."

For someone like me who struggles with a lack of self-confidence, that doesn't sound positive.

We'll see what if anything he has to say.

Here we go.
