Back in January around my birthday on the 30th, I remember announcing to friends that I had written 40 000 words of my second book. The words were flowing and I confidently predicted that I would have written 70 000 words by the end of February and finished draft one by the end of March. March finishes in two hours and have I finished Draft One? Have I heck!
I recorded an interview for Salford City radio last week, (which will go out in April) and I confessed that I now realise that I can only write when I feel creative. Luckily, I have recently gone through another productive spell, book two is now 56 000 words in and I really, really hope I can complete the first draft in the next few weeks. If anyone read what I have written so far, I am still not sure if they would make too much sense of it, but I wanted to write it as it came into my head rather than trying to write it chronologically, so it is all over the place! The next draft will try to make it more readable. People keep asking me when the next one will be out and I am desperate to get it out there, but I am also desperate for it to be as good as it can possibly be and if I just rush through it, I know I will fail miserably! Bear with me. I am getting there.
