This was a good book, although Enemy Women, recommended to me by Bonnie Evans, is still my favourite (Bonnie Evans, who used to live in BC, was a friend of my mother's but I think they've lost touch since she moved).
On a hot, dry day a four-year old girl named Raisa was taken out into a busy street by her parents and abandoned jcpenney kiosk. As young Raisa is passed among orphanages and foster families, she is renamed Nadia Stepan and learns to don new personas as needed.
Paulette, I’ve told so many people about your beautiful style! Will always love News of the World, The Color of Lightening, and Simon the Fiddler. I’m a audiobook lover so bought News of the World on CD since it wasn’t available on Audible at that time. Your writing is delicious. Thank you for bringing this art into the world.Amy
