Kickstarter Project

Picture I launched a kickstarter project a few days back (you can click the picture for the link), looking for support for my series.

I had not heard of kickstarter until a few days before I created my own project. I had stumbled upon another author's project page and was blown away by the support he'd managed to gain. That, to me, proved that there were passionate people out there ready to support writers in their dreams. While I know fantasy is a niche genre, and tougher to pull readers in, I still feel it is an important genre, enriching the human idea, and taking people on incredible journeys. I will forever support fantasy, and I hope to find the same in others. If you can, back my project. I have quite a few interesting rewards. Any help you can give, sharing, supporting, or just commenting, would be greatly appreciated.

The ebook format is great, and I love that it is accessible to so many people. It also doesn't hurt that books in this form allow for a greater versatility in reading and sharing. But there's something to be said about physical books. I've talked with numerous readers who tell me they don't read ebooks, for whatever reason: no device, hard to read at a computer, or just old school. Personally, for me, I love holding a physical book, so I guess I fall in to that last category. While the kickstarter project is not all about getting the books in print, it is a small part of what I want to do. I want to reach as wide an audience as I can, and with physical books still in demand, for readers and collectors alike, I'd very much enjoy having them available in that form.

What the project is mainly designed for is to make these books the best they can be. This includes cover art, maps, formatting, and all those glorious things that self-published authors often do without because of funds. I released"The Pale Hand of God" back in October 2012, and have since spent a large amount of time and money promoting it across the internet. While it has captured modest success, I'm not satisfied. I believe in my books, in my characters, and in my stories. And I think other people will too. I just have to reach them. Whether this comes in eye-catching cover art, better ad placement, or physical exposure to the books, doesn't matter. What is at the core of this project is getting this story to readers, and making sure the story is presented in the way it deserves.
