I know I said I'd use this more...

...but I am consistently attacked by varying social media. If I write something here should I blog it? Should I also put it on Tumblr and cross reference it on Facebook, and if I tweet should I tweet to this, or to my blog, or my facebook post? Which should be the central post and which should be the methods I use to direct people to the central post? Or should certain types of posts go in certain places, and should I vary my whole directional strategy based on the content of the post? Or is it better to centralize everything and build up a really strong base of content so that people know where to go for everything?

All these social networks these days create these dramas and these stresses. I think it's best to just use Goodreads to discuss books, dont' you?

I am reading several books at the moment, so let's talk about the ones I just finished:

About six weeks ago my friend Cheryl (Klein, of Second Sight) said I should really read Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell. So I read that, and then immediately moved onto Rainbow's first book,Attachments. These books are so lovely and insightful in such a delightful way: completely unpretentious, yet striking so close to the bone.

I finally joined the real world and read the first two Divergent novels and am anxiously waiting for the third like everyone else...

And The Madness Underneath - how could I forget Maureen? What did everyone think? I think she's a master. A crazy wonderful master.

What are you all reading right now?

Clare I definitely agree that goodreads should just be for books. Your other questions about use of social networks are more difficult and I keep typing an answer and then disagreeing with myself so my answer is "I don't know".

I've been insanely busy with uni lately so Infinite Jest, which I was planning to start reading is just sitting on my desk looking intimidating. I've mostly been really comics lately - Buffy season 9 & Angel and Faith which have been incredibly enjoyable.

All this buzz around Eleanor & Park is making me excited - I've reserved both of Rowell's books from my library and can't wait until I can read them.

Yehia Shehata Just update your profile here more frequently than once a year :)

I've gotten into A Song of Ice and Fire this year, I've been on recovery leave from work for the past 3 months so I've had the time to read. It's not like anything I've ever read before, I'm loving it.

You've gotten me interested in reading Rainbow Rowell, added to my ever growing "to-read" list.

I've had Divergent, name of the star, and fault in our stars on my to-read list for a while now, but I just can't find the time.

So many books, so little time.

Keep us updated.

Guillermina I am reading a novel called The Seventh M. It was somewhat famous a decade ago because the author got the book deal after an HP fanfic of hers turned famous.

The book is not very good XD

message 4: by Julián (new)

Julián Gómez I'm currently reading the final installment in His Dark Materials Trilogy, very very good series.

message 5: by George (new)

George Saba I'm reading Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. A huge book, but a great one.

message 6: by Olga (new)

Olga I'm reading Les Miserables too, but it's taking me ages. Also rereading the HP books for a LeakyCon related project. :-)

message 7: by Shaft (new)

Shaft Just finished The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson and now I am reading The Second Ship (The Rho Agenda #1) by Richard Phillips.

message 8: by Olivia (new)

Olivia I'm currently reading the Fug Girls' first YA book, Spoiled. Just finished the final Infernal Devices book Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare.

message 9: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Recently read the intense roller coaster that is Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl.
Even more recently read Eleanor and Park, due to the fact that you and John have been talking nonstop about it. LOVED it!
Those two are already slated for the best books I read this year, and it's only April!

message 10: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer I finally read Divergent and loved it! I don't know why it takes me so long to catch up with everyone... you should check out "Free Four" too. It's only one chapter written from Four's perspective but it was fun. I requested Eleanor & Park and Madness Underneath from the library and can hardly wait.. maybe I'll stop at a bookstore today... :-)

BookWorm 221 I'm currently reading it's kind of a funny story

message 12: by Alex (new)

Alex I don't like when people have one place with ALL their stuff. Goodreads is for books, Twitter is for updates on life & links to things you want to share, Tumblr is for personal thoughts and opinions on everything that you want to post about, etc.
Not that that makes it much more clear, but yeah XD

message 13: by Synne (new)

Synne In between books at the moment, but just finished Lighthousekeeping. Think I sort of love it.
Anyways, thanks for updating once in a while - see you in LeakyCon London? ;)
