In a world where scientists try to explain everything and think they have all the answers, how come so many unexplained things still exist? Come with me on a journey to figure it all out and bring your cookies and milk.
Legends normally start with something true and some say they grow in size as time passes. I don’t think so; today too many people can look at a miracle and say it does not exist. Things go bump in the night and mommy comes to your bedside and tells you things like' it was all in your imagination'. However, to you it was real and you wish she would just shut up and start swinging a baseball bat.
People are cured almost daily by the laying of hands, strange combinations of herbs, and ritualistic and religious acts in churches and temples around the world because people believe in them. We believe that our Teddies will protect us from the monster under the bed so it does. We believe when we wish upon a star our wish may really come true. Why then do we stop believing in myths, legends and monsters until we are confronted by them directly?
The answer is easy. We are trained to do so. We are trained to close our eyes and allow only those things that fit into what society dictates is our reality to filter through. We are trained to think there is always a logical answer behind an event or that a legend is just another children's story.
We have scientists who are breaking down particles farther and farther and finding evidence of energies and matter never seen before, so why can’t magic exist? The question should be, where did the magic go and what caused it to leave? In truth if you want to see magic go to a farm or a hospital and watch a baby being born. The simple act of conception, that first splitting of the cell that will form a new life is magic. If you do not agree… well, you have either never really thought about it or your training is too complete to consider it.
