An Insignificant Blue Dot

I find it very interesting to compare the futility of the narration of this video with my ‘confident’ religion.

I find the opposite is true – I find this video uplifting and awe-inspiring. Because in this vast and incalculable galaxy, God created that little blue dot to sustain life perfectly.

Upon that blue planet, in the billions of people who have lived and strutted and stressed, God entered history. Jesus, both man and God, did not seek to oppress or rule or enslave. He came to save, to love. He changed the world totally.

When I watch this video, I think about this insignificant blue dot and remember that it is covered with God’s love.

We are God’s children, and that makes us significant. Perhaps not in the wordly way of seeing things; perhaps not in wealth or popularity or charm or fame.

Instead, significant in the eyes of the Creator God, who breathed life into that little blue planet and surrounded it with the breathless beauty of the galaxies.

And loves us. LOVES us. Loves US.

Truly uplifting and awe-inspiring.
