Yes, I agree it would have been good to see the Lib-Dem's do better. Now we just have to see where this will all leave us. More national debt or will the Tories get the power they are looking for through a deal with the Lib's and the big cuts that Cameron wants, that is the big question. I dread cuts for it will lead to greater hardships for those, such as myself, that are struggling as it is. Yet some form of savings are bound to happen what ever happens.
To be honest im just looking for a quick resolution. I can't stand the idea of getting Labour in again as they have now been in power for the majority of my life and no-one seems to be happy. Also to be honest i feel with labour that its becomming a dictatorship. I hope that the libs make a coalition with Conservative as this would in my eyes make more sense (as labour would need the support of the lib dems and the other parties to have a majority).
I believe it would really be better for the country if there was no deals. It is possible for the Tories to have a minority government and run the country on an issue by issue basis. This is how the Nats in Scotland are running things and managing very well so far.

Since Cameron will be driven to increase his majority quickly to get a majority in next year's election, my guess is for his (or less likely Brown's) pushing for more government jobs - the only place where he has real control, even if it means worsening the deficit.
