I so agree with you Kathleen. Independent booksellers are the finest jewels of the book world. How blissful to spend an hour choosing an armful of books one hadn't intended to purchase in a place where you know that books are much more than commodities. Each one has been carefully chosen by the owner/staff who are the most adventurous people on earth and help make our individual worlds as big as we can bear.

In Columbus Ohio where I live we have this wonderful independent bookseller shop called the Book Loft located in the heart of historic German Village. Its about a 15 minute drive from our house and its my favorite place in the city. Its a maze of little rooms filled with wonderful newly published and and not so newly published books. Its in a historic building to boot. Can't wait to find your books there. One day, I noticed one of my mom's friends was reading your newest book called The Perfume Collector and recognized your name . Lo and behold I looked it up on the web and realized I graduated high school with you Kathleen in Pittsburgh and your locker was a few doors down from mine. I was the short curly black haired girl named Bari, friends with Lisa Levy and Margaret. Maybe u remember me. I'm so happy you are such a success!
