Got a minute or two?

Are you one of those people who can’t take a compliment? I am. I’m terrible about it. Only 3 people in the world have ever been able to say something amazing about me without me feeling incredibly uncomfortable. That’s not to say I don’t wonder what they want when they proclaim, “You’re the greatest mom EVER!” but it still makes me feel good. But as an author, I’ve had to learn to take both compliments and criticism in stride. And with genuine appreciation, because let’s face it. That ‘awe shucks’ grin and blush is only really cute when you’re 12 and your mom’s
friends are telling you what a handsome/lovely young man/woman you’re turning into.

To that end I have this awesome folder...my Happy Folder, if you will...where I keep all these incredible messages I receive. Hand written notes, cards, even Post-its with short scribbled messages. They are thank you notes, congratulations on my book, or some saying they can't wait to read it. I also have a digital folder for FB messages, emails and website contacts that contain the same things. More than one of them has made me cry.  Picture Oh, but in a good way... This is where you, the reader, come in. Maybe you have sent me such a note. Maybe you haven't because you love me but hated the book. Either way, if you have a few minutes to kill while you've got the kids distracted with a snack or you're waiting on your Candy Crush lives to regenerate, I would really appreciate an online review. While narrative reviews are the most useful to other readers in understanding what you really thought of a book, some sites allow just star ratings as well. It only takes a minute, and it is immeasurably helpful to both the author and possible book buyers. Here's why:

Good or bad, I would rather have 100 real reviews than 1000 fake or padded ones. It may only take a small amount of your time, but it would mean the world to this self-published author! Thank you! Ramblings

Angel Lepire
I've never written a blog, so who knows how this will come out. For now, I believe it will just be my rambling mind you see in stunning 2D black & white. Perhaps, from time to time, I will come up wit ...more
