Hello, Mr Random Thoughts!

It's been hectic.
Writing school reports, redesigning my website (www.danielabbott.net, for those of you who are interested), making sure that Book Two is on the right track (so that its ready for a December release), and, you know, actually doing the thing that pays my bills, my job. These are just a handful of the things that make life so busy at the moment.
I'm not complaining about them, I'm just ... well, mostly, I'm just using them as an excuse for not being able to do this blogging thing more regularly. Because, whilst I'd love to be on here, every day, trying to promote myself, I just don't have the time. Real life gets in the way. Hell, there are times when I get thousands of words behind with the typing - I handwrite everything, before typing, you see - of Book Two because I don't have the time to sit at my Mac and type, so how I expect to get this done, I'll never be able to fathom.
But ... but ... I know that I should. It's a good exercise, you see. It keeps the creative, writing juices flowing, especially on the days when I have books to mark and can't squeeze out an hour or two of writing time. It allows me the opportunity to come up with something in the form of the written word, even if it is, like this, a short piece of rambling, unstructured nonsense, flowing unchecked from the deepest recesses of what i like to think of as my brain.
So, here's the plan. I'll try to write one of these once a week, on the condition that - and you really have to stick to this - if it's just a stream of semi-literate thoughts, with no meaning, or, on occasion, complete pretentious b******s, you just ignore me and wait for something a little more profound or, failing that (and let's be honest, it's likely to fail) something that's half-readable.
I hope that's okay with you. I think it's the perfect arrangement for both of us. Very little work, and certainly no real thinking, involved for either of us. It might even cure your insomnia.
Take care,
Daniel
