Novel #2 Sneak Peek
I have not given up on the pursuit of becoming an author. The road has been full of challenges, but I come back day after day to hammer out pages of new material.
My last novel clocked in at just around 81,000 words and took me around eight years to complete. During that process, I took my time, wrote casually, and never read other work with a critical eye. I released it reluctantly, not understanding the true nature of a completed piece of literary work.
This time around, I learned a thing or two, and utilized a handful of literary tools. I took my time to build the foundation of my next novel, to study and analyze what makes a complete work of fiction. I did not rush to begin, but read manuals, guides, and thousands of writer's quotes and their respective interviews. I wanted to feel what they were feeling, learn what they had learned, and create something that could compare to what they created.
Novel #2 currently sits around the 65,000 word count and I've been working on it for the past two months. Just to reiterate, my last novel clocked in at 81,000 words - and took 8 years to complete - and I'm not even half way done with this one!
What does this mean for you?
Other than having someone to root for, I will release the genre of my new novel if I can get just 10 followers to this blog. 10 followers will answer all of these questions:
Is it romance?
Is it action?
Is it spy-thriller?
Is it legal mystery?
Is it horror?
Is it fantasy?
Is it post-apocalyptic?
Is it steampunk?
Is it another vampire chronicle?
Is it a zombie invasion?
Is it a comedy?
Is it a satirical novel?
Is it the next great American novel?
Is it erotica?
