The Iris Cupcake recipe

The Cupcakery might be fictional ... but the Iris Cupcake isn't! Best of all, it has wine in it. As another Julia—Child— once said, "I enjoy cooking with wine, sometimes I even put it in the food I'm cooking."

Iris Cupcakes

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter, softened to room temperature
1-1/2 cups sugar
2-3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons baking powder
6 egg whites
3/4 cup chardonnay
