On Thursday this week I visited a local primary school to read my latest children’s picture book, Jossie’s New Home, and my other picture books, too.
It was wonderful to interact with the children, to hear their questions about my books and my writing. Children are always interested in books and a writer’s life. Some of the questions were: where do I get my ideas from, how long does it take to write a book, how do I write the book, how do I get my book published, who does the illustrations, how do I find the names for my characters, and which is my favourite book.
It was a pleasure to be among such a lively and positive group of students.
Thank you St Paul’s Primary School, Massey for your wonderful hospitality.
