Hard Copy Books or Ebooks?

It is incredible what the latest technology can do. It can be both advantageous and disadvantageous. It is much more convenient for us providing service through the web. However, many jobs are being lost due to technology replacement.

So my question is: Do you prefer shopping books from a bookstore or online.

Since I am an old-school kind of guy and I already own so many books, why would I stop now? The feeling of holding a book, knowing that the author worked so hard by placing all their talent and passion into this booklet.

Since the introduction of Ebooks, many trees have been spared, which is fantastic for the environment. I am also a fan of ebooks- I own one myself. It is much more convenient carrying an ebook than a hard copy book with you.

The thing that frightens me is the future
of bookstores and libraries. If most of the population are purchasing ebooks, what happens to the happiest place on earth for book lovers? What purpose will it serve.

One way of fixing this obstacle is to have a balanced inventory between hard copies and ebooks. There can always be a certain amount in both formats. I would even prefer more Ebooks than hard copies to help the environment and by going green.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter. Wishing you all the best!

Hi Shelly,
Thank you for posting a comment. I share the same sentiments. Having an actual book in our hands feels just right compared to latest technology replacing our original traditions. However, thanks to ereaders, we are saving the environment by reducing the amount of books being created. Seems like there are both advantages and disadvantages in every brand.
Wishing you all the best! :)
