Virginia Woolf's Ghostly Couple

Okay, so I'm taking a real risk here and featuring A Haunted House by Virginia Woolf on my Tuesday's Tale of Terror.

Woolf, known as a Bloomsbury Group intellectual, is not a horror writer or even a mystery writer but this very short dark literary fiction will certainly please the mind and heart.

It'll take you all of 7 minutes to read it.

David Elkin Ah Paula, she could write, but much more happy than I expected. More of a protective ghost couple than a haunting couple. VW still is not on my "to buy" list, but thanks for taking the chance. Always important to expand one's mind.

Paula Cappa Thanks, David. I found this "happy" story, as you say to be significant, given her bouts of depression that she struggled with. One would think that if VW were to write a supernatural story, she'd write something very dark. This isn't at all, which is so refreshing to me.

Werner Paula, that story is a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing it.

Paula Cappa Glad you liked it, Werner. My blog got lots of hits this week so I guess Woolf is still fascinating as an author.
