Brianna’s eyes felt as big as saucers. “What’s it like?”

Jared took a deep breath. “It’s like…magic. I’d rather show you than tell you.”

She hesitated. “I don’t know.”

“Do you trust me?” Brianna searched his eyes and was captured by his gaze.

“Yes.” She meant it.

“Then come with me.”

The air beside her began to glimmer, every shade of every color emerging in the black of the night. An immense oval of colorful lights were suspended in midair, as if thousands of glowing gems had been melded together. Jared took her hand. “Come inside,” he said.
