I wouldn't call it a first draft, exactly. More like a quick sketch. The main thing is that it's done, the idea for the sequel to 'Of Shadow and Ash' is laid out so I can start tweaking and changing and getting that first draft onto paper. It's been over a year since publishing and I'd expected to be well underway with my next work long before now, but life had a way of throwing a Kindle into my eye so things, such as writing, got put on hold. And when I did start writing again it was like I'd forgotten how, at least as far as first draft messes go. Edit mode was still 'on' and quite active, left over from polishing up the final draft of Shadow and Ash. Ah yes, need to turn that completely off when entering first draft territory. And tell you what, it feels great to be at it, really at it, again. Looking forward to every moment I can grab to write, just like old times. :)
