The simplest and most powerful thing you can do with your money is to decide to keep some of every dollar for yourself. Go on, be selfish and keep some of your money to yourself. It’s by far better than robbing your kids and grandkids like you currently are with your out of control debt, foreclosures and bankruptcy.

Wouldn’t it be great to pay yourself each month, instead of seeing it fly away to everyone else? What if you could give yourself a raise? You can, you dick wad. That’s what we’re talking about!

Every time you get paid another clash begins. Really. Everyone else is competing to rip the greenbacks out of your hands like relatives at Uncle Pete’s final Will reading. They’re winning more than you are, and you’re getting beat up during the skirmishes. In fact, you’re getting your ass kicked. Still, you can lick your wounds and turn the game back in your favor.

Get fucking mad enough to do something about it. Get that determination going. Become smart about the ways you are being separated from your money. If only the girlfriends of your youth would have given up their virginity as easy as you give up your money — then you might have something to really talk about. But no, you lost out on both.

So start paying attention from the moment that you are paid. Keep on a look out for interceptions, turnovers, and fumbles. As you figure out ways to increase your “score,” you’ll learn to love the game. Once you start winning at it, it is so damn fun.
