John F. Kennedy was a brilliant statesman and leader of the Cold War-extant across the world-and of the new challenges on the domestic front, such as civil rights, fighting poverty and putting a man on the moon. As a man he had as many flaws as virtues. Now as we begin the countdown to the commemoration of the assassination, we should banish blind hero worship in favor of the truth--- but without sacrificing our capacity for being inspired.
