Summer Freedom at last!

I'm home from five weeks of touring, my sons are done with SATs and finals this week, and the summer stretches ahead; offering the same promise of freedom it did when I was a child. Time to get to all the books accumulating on my nightstand! I'll be making a few appearances in the Hamptons and devoting much of August to writing novel number two. Pass me a lobster roll and some chilled pink wine! Happy summer everyone.

Cindypbarnard I would send you lobster and wine every week if you would crank out another Major Pettigrew caliber novel. Get writing!

Cindypbarnard I have to say, your analogy of writing a first novel being like trying to carry around armfuls of spaghetti and meatballs without the bowl is amazing.
What a visual.

Helen Simonson Thanks for the supportive comments and here's to one more week or so of eating guilt-free - because if it's from the farm stand it must be really good for you!

Leslie Does "artisanal" clotted cream in Ireland count as from the farm stand?

Linda Just finished reading "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand" and would like another cup of tea and another Major Pettigrew book! A series featuring him and the new Mrs. Pettigrew would be wonderful. Thank You!
