Somewhere between Naked and Colonel Kurtz

The idea of having someone give their literary opinion on a book by awarding stars on a website seems at best capricious. It is sort of like the cute stickers elementary school teachers put on your report card to show your parents that you did well or at least didn't get caught when you were cheating.

I give the following examples: "Naked" a soft porn romance novel by Raine Miller has been awarded 4.09 stars. "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville has 3.37 stars, and "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad also has 3.37 stars.

I don't mean to belittle the work of Ms. Miller, soft porn has gotten me through many lonely evenings. I am just pointing out that there might be something wrong with lumping together whales, megalomaniacs, and heavy breathing, for the purpose of making literary recommendations.
