~ Memories in Writing ~
When I was much younger, Mom gave us kids a writing assignment for school: Write a short story entitled "The Day the Clock Stopped." The idea was to think about how our world would run if we had no clocks, however I heard the title and ran with a different theme...
The end results: I wrote a story about a little girl who became deaf and therefore could no longer hear the clock.

One assignment I really enjoyed was in my freshman year of highschool - I had to write a Psalm for my history course. Here's the finished product: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3... It was so fun to write and I still enjoy reading this on days I'm feeling a bit lonely or sad. :) I remember that halfway through the project, the tornado sirens in our neighborhood started to go off quite unexpectedly - I had to finish my writing after a hasty flight to the basement!
