Reviews

As someone new to writing for an audience the landscape has taken some getting used to. When I received strongly positive initial reviews for my books, Soldier Boy in particular (see the three page review by Grady Harp of the Vine Voice), I was lured into a false sense of security. Then some particularly negative reviews appeared and it took the wind out of my sails. At the time, I was part way through proofreading the second book in the Bryce Tyconnel series in preparation for publishing, and suddenly found myself rewriting the book to respond to the criticism. The long and short of it is I wasn't proofreading anymore, but changing the style and the joy of writing disappeared in the process. Then today I got news that Rainbow Reviews has given Soldier Boy an honorable mention. So all I can say at this point is I'm glad some people like my work and hope that others who would enjoy it will eventual find it. Happy reading! Thomas
