Phantoms at the Feminist Library: An Evening of Vampire and LGBT Fiction…
…Phantoms at the Feminist Library and a Halloween-themed reading from The Breathing Ghosts!
I’m thrilled to be reading from my novel at the Feminist Library- a fantastic treasure store of contemporary and archival feminist material from the 60s, 70s and 80s, especially as I used to volunteer there myself! As part of the Halloween-themed event, I will be reading alongside Liam Livings, whose debut novel is due to be published by Wilde City Press next year. His work has been praised for its ’rounded dynamic of characters within a world that is immediately relatable.’
There will also be a reading from Reflections of a Vampire, a work by the late Eileen Cadman, (1950-2013) who was a great supporter and friend of the Feminist Library. Her work has been called ‘a darkly erotic tale of masks, mirrors and mysteries’, tracing the journey of a nameless female vampire with a fatal flaw, and her stylish vampire companion, Ligeia. Plus, some of Eileen Cadman’s artwork will be displayed within the Feminist Library space.
Hope to see many Breathing Ghosts fans there- there will also be refreshments (including yummy pumpkin cake!)
Details:
Where: The Feminist Library 5 Westminster Bridge Rd, London SE1 7XW (Nearest tube: Lambeth North)
When: From 7pm, Wednesday 30th October
Suggested donation: £3
All welcome
