A Fir Lined Christmas . . .

(Oh hell, I admit it: I'm addicted to puns. Seriously, it aches in the blood to write them.)

* * *

Goodness, yes, but it's that time of year again. Christmas. It seems to come around quicker and quicker every year. . . .

When it's dark and cold, rainy and generally miserable though, it's good to concentrate on the fun traditions and pretty fairy lights and Christmas markets galore.

Also fun: cozying up inside, having the excuse to do nothing but read a book and curl up with a hot chocolate (or Winter Spice Latte, whatever your vice).

To celebrate this (and there might be a touch of nostalgia for NZ here), I have written a Christmas story, which I hope you'll enjoy.

Sunne Oh...I just wanted to take a look if you have posted something about a future new release and than I've found this :D

Yeah...you'll forgive me if I wait a few weeks to read it? I think I'm going to treat myself with it the moment I've put up all Christmas decorations and have my Adventskranz ready. Well....or maybe when I have baked the first batches of christmas cookies...or maybe I need something to get me in the mood for baking and decorating...Yes, I think that's it. I need something to get me in the mood for Christmas.

:D Please read it if and when you like! :)

I've already put up some Xmas lights (just because it's so dark here so early already), but I look forward to getting the tree out and decorating it all together!

Sunne I probably won't be able to wait until the End of November ;) This is when I usually decorate for Christmas despite I always think I should do it earlier. Maybe reading your story could hurry me up ;)

Yeah, damn change of time, it's dark so much sooner.

Anyta Sunday Do you have Laterne night where you are? I love that part of November. It's the silver lining in an otherwise rainy, grey month.

Sunne We have something even better. It's called "Räbelichtli". Google it then you can see the carved "Räbe". It's a Swiss tradition as far as I know. You cut and carve a purple turnip, put a candle in it and walk through the village, singing songs (Yes, there are "Räbelichtli songs). Unfortunately my kids are too old now to join but I still take a look when all school classes are walking through our village. I like it even better than Laterne nights because the "Räben" are not so...artificial.
