My thoughts on All He Desires

All He Desires All He Desires by Anthea Lawson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With a book about Caroline Huntington (sister to James from Passionate) Lawson takes us to Crete in 1848 this time for the first part of the book. I've visited some spots in the Mediterranean and WOW! she did a fabulous job recreating the setting for me. Took me right back there.

In All He Desires, there's adventure, romance, danger and a deeply wounded hero paired with a bright, happy and engaging heroine who is honest and sweet-natured. (loved some of her tart self-comments though)

I wondered all the way through how Lawson would manage to fix the hero, to bring him to a place, physically and emotionally where he could heal. She surprised me a couple of times and that's not easy.

As I've stated before I occasionally like to move away from England in my historical reading and Crete was a lovely choice.

I'd recommend this book to historical romance readers. And I will read it again, just to enjoy the lyrical prose again.

I slowed my reading about halfway through this book, so I could stretch out the experience...I really didn't want it to end.
