Telling a tale of bullying and the impact of this give's a strong message to the readers, this is captured incredibly well by the author. The characters were likeable (except for the bullies), Sol made me empathise with his plight and Edward amused me. I would have liked to have spent more time in the world the boys discover and I really wanted Sol to overcome his bullies, as the series is called the Darkly Chronicles maybe that is coming next. At times I thought the writing style may have been too complex for the audience the book is aimed at, however an enjoyable read. I would rate this book 4/5
