Updates!

We’re hard at work on getting Seers ready for publishing! There was more re-writing to do than anticipated so unfortunately our aim to publish it for Christmas won’t work out. But to make up for it, the last book is expected to be much longer than it had been planned to be, so more to read for you readers! :) For now, have a small excerpt!!

Solenum Everhart – Seers Excerpt

It was said that Immortalis Silva forced you to become lost because it felt like you were travelling through the same trees over and over again. While Cali and I could definitely agree to that, stay in the forest long enough and the repetition would start to fade. Not to the extent that allowed you to find your way back home, but the trees showed you different parts of the forest, forcing you to run into different types of circles. Right now, we were stuck in a part where the air was so humid it felt like you were slowly suffocating in your own sweat. We were sticky and had the urge to just take off as much clothes as we could, but didn’t as we knew we could end up being stuck in a part of the forest where it happened to be really cold next.

A couple of days ago we’d been in a part of the forest where the weather was soft, the atmosphere tranquil and the animals residing there mostly being bunnies, birds, foxes and deer. As well as the change of weather and the atmosphere being heavy rather than soothing, the set of animals roaming these grounds of Immortalis Silva is what was currently keeping us very occupied.

“Cali!” I shouted, looking over my shoulder to make sure he was still right behind me. Just a couple of berries. That is all we wanted. A couple of berries to eat and settle our stomachs. Unfortunately for us, the berries were in a bush that was placed right next to a hyena den, the beasts leisurely napping around until they noticed our presence. We’d been running for what felt hours.

We couldn’t keep running like this forever though. Sliding to a halt, I grabbed Cali’s wrists and shoved them around so his palms were pointed towards the animals who had slowed in their steps, coming to a stop themselves. Not that I could read their expressions, but I figured they weren’t entirely sure why we weren’t running anymore.

“Blast them!” I told him in a panic.

“Yeah.” He shook his hands free from my hold. “Why didn’t I think of that?”

“Don’t be sarcastic and use those silly powers of yours!” My determination was killed slightly when the hyena at the front jumped forward, threatening to come closer as it showed its teeth. First hounds, now hyenas. Ugh. So not in L.V. anymore.
