Overcoming Your Destiny

"Hosea embraced his destiny. Hosea put his arms around the darkness, and shortly afterward he trampled on the darkness. But his wife, Gomer, couldn't understand why he had to trample over darkness. Gomer was a woman of darkness; she liked and loved it."
Excerpt from "Endless Love" by Pastor Sun Hui East

Every day, we must fight a battle, the battle between light and darkness, good and evil, life and death. We must choose light, good, and life. We must choose to walk according to the Word of God.

Hosea was called by God to marry Gomer because God wanted to show his unending love for Israel through Hosea's relationship and unending love for Gomer. Even though Gomer chose evil, Hosea embraced his destiny to love Gomer, no matter what the circumstance. He chose to forgive and love Gomer even though she continually hurt and betrayed him.

There are times in our lives when we are called to love and forgive those who have betrayed us over and over again. This is the love of God for us. This is how we will show God's love for others.

Remember, when you forgive others, God will forgive you. When you show love to those who have betrayed you, God will move in your life and in their lives as well. He will touch others through you, through your forgiveness and love, just as touched Gomer through Hosea. When you forgive, you fulfill and overcome your destiny.

God bless you!

Esther Shock It can be very difficult to forgive those who you have helped or worked with and who have betrayed you. It seems that the people you help the most are the ones that hurt you the most. Thank you Sun East for this encouragement to follow in the steps of Hosea (and Jesus) in making the choice to forgive. I pray that the people I forgive will eventually change like Gomer did.

James White There have been many times when I wanted to run away then forgive. This is a awesome book on forgiveness.

message 3: by Marie (new)

Marie Forgiveness is the foundation of a Christian walk. When unforgiveness is held onto towards others then people really can't see Jesus in us. Thank you Pastor Sun Hui East for living the example and for writing Endless Love.

message 4: by Reggie (new)

Reggie Thank you Pastor Sun for writing Endless Love. It seems that one of the hardest things we have to do is forgive. Even the medical industry has shown that when we forgive and give up any bitterness that we have towards others, we can live a healthier and happy life.
