As 2014 begins I give a nod to the four things that fill my thoughts and force smaller concerns off the table: teaching, acting, parenting, and writing. Thank God, they compliment each other. . . most of the time.

For doesn’t a parent and a teacher have to act at times to insure those under their influence are inspired and encouraged? Doesn’t a teacher and an actor need to write their creative plans and strategies to ensure success? And, yes, a writer must embrace it all, walking the fine line between the need to teach, entertain, inspire, and nurture while sharing their view of life.

My wish and prayer for this year is that these four streams that careen through my life might converge in peace and nurture my soul.

That I would be blessed to be a blessing.
