Empty Mansions

Pour a Santa Barbara Sea Breeze and settle into this delicious book on the reclusive Huguette Clark:

2 oz vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
1 oz hypnotique
1 oz grapefruit juice
garnish with a grapefruit slice
pour of ice

Another book by a Pulitzer winning journalist. The book is so well researched, uncovering for the first time the delightful life of a woman trapped not only in home (by her choice) but in the past. Though she was interested in many things and had a very curious mind, she never ventured far from her Manhattan home, though she had astounding mansions around the country. In fact she spent the last decades of her life in a hospital - and how her and her fortune was taken advantage of there is heartbreaking. The book is filled with many amazing facts about her family (Clark county Nevada is named after her family) that will keep the reader turning pages.
