February Fun with Sarah M. Anderson, author of What a Rancher Wants

February is such an odd month. It’s short on days and can be warm or cold, but it also means Spring with all its potential is only a month away.
Welcome, Sarah, what’s your favorite thing about February?
I live in the Midwest and there’s usually a warm-up in the middle of the month. Then, all of a sudden, the daffodils start to push through and it starts to green up! It’s a wonderful thing. We usually have a few more really cold snaps or snows, but those peeking daffodils always fill me with hope for spring!
Whether you celebrate Valentine’s or not, you can’t ignore the candy. What’s your favorite kind?
It’s got to be chocolate. Almost every kind is acceptable. I’ve recently discovered the joy of sea-salt caramels and dark chocolate with chile powder—Aztec style. It’s a spicy, hot chocolate—very passionate! By the time Easter rolls around, I crave the fruity sweet of jelly beans but in the middle of winter, I need chocolate!
If you could add three more days to the month, what would you do with them?
Write! It’s always what I do with bonus time. I get up at my regular time on Daylight Savings and write. If I got really wild, I might try to squeeze in a pedicure. Maybe.
March Madness. Do you know what it is?
Of course! We watch a lot of sports in this house (despite none of us being the slightest bit athletic). In 1999, I was teaching at The Ohio State University while getting my Masters’ degree and had a basketball player in my composition class. That year, they were the Cinderella story and made it to the Final Four. It was a wild time to be on that campus!
What are you looking forward to this Spring?
The flowers! I love watching the world turn green again. First the daffodils push up (they’re my favorite flower, in case you haven’t guessed yet) and then the crocuses, tulips, then BOOM the whole world goes Technicolor again! I have a beautiful magnolia tree outside my office window and when it’s in bloom, it’s amazing.
What a Rancher WantsBlurb:When it comes to the Texas Cattleman's Club, what a rancher wants, a rancher gets…
Nothing's come easy to Chance McDaniel since his best friend betrayed him. And when the deception explodes into a Texas-sized scandal, his best friend's sister, Gabriella del Toro, shows up to pick up the pieces. Now Chance's luck is about to change. He wants this innocent beauty, and seducing her has become his top priority.
Gabriella's sheltered upbringing has always left her wanting more. Now, with this rich rancher, she sees a chance to break free. But will the web of deception her family has woven ensnare her yet again?
About the Author:
Award-winning author Sarah M. Anderson may live east of the Mississippi River, but her heart lies out west on the Great Plains. With a lifelong love of horses and two history teachers for parents, it wasn’t long before her characters found themselves out in South Dakota among the Lakota Sioux.  She loves to put people from two different worlds into new situations and to see how their backgrounds and cultures take them someplace they never thought they’d go. Sarah’s second book, A Man of Privilege, won RT Reviewer’s Choice Desire of the Year for 2012.
When not helping out at school or walking her rescue dogs, Sarah spends her days having conversations with imaginary cowboys and American Indians, all of which is surprisingly well-tolerated by her wonderful husband and son. You can learn more about Sarah at www.sarahmanderson.com.
