While The End of Money: Counterfeiters, Preachers, Techies, Dreamers--and the Coming Cashless Society continues to be relevant, pulling me into currency or Bitcoin-related conversations almost daily, there are many other stories and subjects that fascinate me. Some of them I’ve been lucky enough to write about for a living. After thinking back on just how much ground I’ve covered over the past decade, I recently decided that my next project is going to be a compilation of some of my best (read: favorite) longform features. A handful of them were originally written for Wired, but there’s a nice mix of stories for other publications, including Nature, Salon, and High Country News. I’m also including a chapter from each of my three books.
The collection is titled Firsthand and will be released as an e-book in the (very!) near future.
