48 hours to book launch
The History Press officially published The Blue Ridge Tunnel: A Remarkable Engineering Feat in Antebellum Virginia two days ago.
It's an odd feeling to see five years of research and writing finally within the covers of an actual book with paper pages (it's already available as a Multi-touch book for the iPad or any iMac with OS 10).
I really have high hopes for the book launch sponsored by Over the Moon Bookstore in Crozet, Virginia, on March 1, 3-4pm. It should be fun to meet people as interested in--or should I say as obsessed by--this beautiful, haunting landmark as I am.
Mostly I want the event to be a success for the bookstore owner, Anne Devault. Her shop is high quality. Plus, she's serving catered Irish soda bread, Irish tea, and is even bringing a flower arrangement. How's that for luxurious treatment?
My fingers are crossed for decent weather. Or even half decent. I'll take what I can get. Just no sticking snow, please.
