Here it is, only Monday evening (or perhaps Tuesday by the time some of you read this), and we now have two e-book companies making announcements!

First, Smashwords kicked off the week with an announcement over the weekend, that starting March 2nd, they'd be holding a week filled with e-book promotions! Consequently, my book on their site, "Practical Thoughts on Becoming an Author", is now at 25% off, going from $1.99 to $1.49 with coupon code: REW25 Go to http://ow.ly/u7L8i to see the book and use the coupon code.

Second, a brand new site is launching this month, Inkbok.com! The premise for Inkbok is that of a free and paid virtual library. This is a great concept for small villages and remote areas that don't have access to a public library of any sort. A small monthly fee opens up more than just the 1000's of free books already available, to bring a world of reading to the connected reader who previously had no books. $4.95/mo USD is all it costs for the monthly paid service. Readers will be able to connect with authors, leave reviews, rate books, build and share libraries and more!

Scribd.com has recently begun a similar service of it's own, offering a monthly rate of just over $8 USD as a subscription service to those who love to pack their libraries with them! With apps for both Android and iOS, as well as the ability to read books right on your laptop or desktop computer screen, Scribd has now joined the ranks of the monthly subscription as well.

To date, Google Play Books doesn't have an over-arching subscription model available. It's up to individual authors to offer subscriptions, charge once, or offer written works for free.

Songdove Books has books in all four of these locations, from the one on sale this week at Smashwords, to all books available at the other three sites.

So in celebration of "Read an E-Book" week, I encourage you to head out to these sites and expand your reading horizons!
