You've probably noticed I've been placing the 10 commandments out there recently on various posts. Today I posted commandment #7. While knowing the 10 commandments will not save you from hell, knowing them can lead you to understand your need for the Savior. Two or three waves of kids have now grown up without learning these commandments which has led to a rapid decline in morality across out nation. Knowing these commandments does not necessarily lead to morality, but it does at least present us with a fixed standard. Without knowing them, children and adults are forced to develop their own standard for what is right and what is wrong, which is always different and most times self serving.

It seems fairly obvious if you examine the exponential growth in all forms of immorality in our nation since they were removed from schools over 40 years ago-unless you believe in coincidence-that they were in fact good for something after all.

I'm glad that I am old enough to have been taught these commandments in school. I always did the exact opposite of what they taught, but as I look back, I am very glad that at least I knew what I was doing was wrong.
