Unlocking the door disarming the house; Rei walks inside removing her shoes. Walking over to the phone she presses the voicemail button viewing the messages. With no new messages or calls Rei trails upstairs to disrobe. Disrobing out of her kimono neatly folding it into a perfect square before wrapping it in fine linen and satin wraps; she slips into her pajamas. Glancing over at the night stand; Rei catches the flashing green light. Turning on her phone screen she notices a missed call and a voicemail were left. Checking the call log reading another “restricted number”. Frowning Rei checks her voicemail. At first there is no sound; frustrated Rei removes the phone from her ear placing her finger over the phone when all of sudden she hears murmuring on the phone. Replacing the phone up to her ear.
“ Ace of Hearts, Jack of Hearts, Duece of Hearts, King of Hearts, where is your lovely queen of Hearts?” The eerie voice sings with a melancholy tone.
“ Jokers Wild; Deuces Wild; where are you my unruly child….Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades…Where are you the Jack of all….” The voice heavily intensifies
“Rei?”
Startled slightly Rei pulls the phone away ending the call. Jumping to the sound of
. “ Hey Rei…Were you expecting anything in the mail?”
“ Nani?” She looks up towards the door seeing her boyfriend walk through the door with an envelope in his hand.
“ No why?” Her eyebrows furrow
“ I found this in our mail.”
“ Strange…I received an envelope like this a few days ago.”
“Really?...Do you know who’s it from?”
“ No….”
“ What are you doing?” Kisuke asks confused
“ The envelope seems similar to the one I received a few days ago. However; it had my name written in Katakana…But you couldn’t notice it until you tilted it a certain way.”
Noticing something on the front of the envelope; she takes the envelope to her studio planting it on the table with the light beaming down. Taking out the same white marker she had used on the first envelope; she mimics her movements along the envelope revealing the same exact characters she had found on the first envelope. ハンター レイナ. Silently examining the contents on the envelope she flips it over ripping it open finding the “ Queen of Hearts” with another range of characters written in crimson red ink. Clueless Rei takes out the other card examining both.
“ What’s that?”
Kisuke asks approaching from behind.
