Books from the road

Here I am in Houston, in the middle of my book tour for THE LOST SISTERHOOD, and I just can't wait to share the titles I am going to be picking up as soon as I have a moment to read again! Thanks to lovely people I meet en-route (on planes and in airports, mostly), I have become aware of THE MONUMENTS MAN (apparently a film now, ooooh, I'm so behind!), which is about artifact restitution/protection, a subject that interests me enormously ... and then there is that new book, ORFEO, about a man concocting something amazing through musical science (uh ... it sounded better when it was explained TO me). And then there was some other book about music by Oliver Sachs -- I forget the title now, but I am definitely going to look into this guy. Sometimes non-fiction can be even more exciting than fiction when done well. Oh dear, I can't tell you how tempting it is to buy 10-15 books every time I pass through a bookstore, but alas, my suitcase is already bursting at the seams!

Susan Roberts Bookshops are like candy stores, aren't they? So many goodies to chose from. If your suitcase is full, you can always buy books on your Kindle. Is "The Lost Sisterhood" going to be available on Kindle? I am so looking forward to reading it. I loved "Juliet" which I bought in paperback about three years ago. I bought it again last year on my Kindle because I needed to re-read it in a larger font size - turning fifty does terrible things to one's eyes! Good luck with the new book and enjoy your book tour.

Anne Fortier Dear Susan, THE LOST SISTERHOOD is indeed available as an e-book! And by the way, sometimes I also need to increase the font size when I have worked too much and my eyes are tired. I've even had it at 500 percent a few times!

Kind regards,

Anne

Susan Roberts Hi Anne, thanks for responding. Apparently the reason I can't buy the e-book in Africa is something to do with world rights for my region. Hopefully this will be sorted out soon because I can't wait to read it. Enjoy the rest of your book tour!

Anne Fortier Thanks so much, Susan! I'm sorry to hear about that odd rights-issue. I mean, honestly! I hope it's sorted out, or maybe you'll be able to get your fingers on a US edition (paper, though). They don't stop at the border ... :-) Let me know how it goes!

Kind regards,

Anne

Susan Roberts Thanks, Anne, for taking the time and trouble to respond. I've just ordered the hardcover from Amazon. I can't wait to read it!
