World Building
Hello Again!
So ... one thing you'll learn about me is that I love world building. LOVE IT. The ability to come up with new worlds, with their own unique cultural ideologies, monetary systems, magic, sciences, etc. is something that fascinates me no end. It's partially why I love big series or worlds used in multiple stories.
There are some authors out there who are amazing at this, in particular: Brandon Sanderson, Peter F. Hamilton, Alastair Reynolds, Orson Scott Card, just to name a few. It's really what got me interested in science fiction/fantasy to begin with, to tell you the truth. It's something I genuinely strive for in my own writing to the point where I like to pull out my trusty moleskine draw diagrams and doodle up sketches of what types of coins would look like, or what the symbol for a faction will be, what have you.
I'm currently working on a series of stories based in a neo-medieval universe with heavy French and Persian influences and I hope it will turn out as good as the image in my head is. It's got religious overtones, mystery, drama, love and a secret that will shake the very world to its core. I will start to post excerpts here once I get rolling but for now, I am very excited.
Alas, for now I must return to work!
