Review: The Prisoner: Broken Series Complete Collection

The Prisoner: Broken Series Complete Collection

The Prisoner: Broken Series Complete Collection by Kol Anderson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chilling. Kept trying to put it down because of the subject matter but the writing compelled me to see what happened next. The author played that balance between horror and hope masterfully.

I want to take away the star b/c of the cliffhanger ending, but the writing is just too good to do that to.

Louis Stevens Lord help me I enjoyed the writing style and economical yet powerful dialogue so much, but I regretted reading it when I reached the end of the last book.

I was pleasantly surprised by the menage twist at the end and really appreciated it. But what really still haunts me is the last and only scene of Vincent in book 3, where he just ruins the Bennett kid. That is just staying with me and I can't shake it off. It kind of ruins the whole appeal of that genre for me, because we've seen the misery that the kid is in for. It just won't leave me and it haunts me.

Usually I'm able to shake it off and get involved in another read straight away, but I suspect Anderson enjoys influencing his readers as much as his characters. He's an artist, though. And brilliant. But won't be reading anything from him again for a long while to come.

Louis, that's what I kept thinking when I started reading the series, that I really didn't want to keep reading. But I HAD TO....
There's Vince, but what about the other twist? The one who's behind it all? And remember the cop friend only needing to talk to [no spoiler here, so you'll have to supply your own clue here]. But that makes me think--is the cop a good guy or a bad guy? Yeah, I'm going to read the next ones. But I'm going to TRY to hold off until the season is done and it's put into a compilation like the first season.

No, you didn't ruin it for me. There is MORE COMING!!!!! This was season one of the series. Kol released a chapter at a time, then combined them into this edition.
In the next season, we are going to learn about the kid and about rehab and about the menage and all that other stuff.

Louis Stevens OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the SOB left us WITH ONLY THIS FOREVER!

I can't even breathe right now this just rocked my world. I really didn't think we'd get anything more from this series. I don't know whether to sigh in relief or cry.

Yeah, Kol Anderson does that to me, too. :)

Louis Stevens I can't find anywhere where it talks about a second season or its release date, could you perhaps point me in the direction of a link or post somewhere?

I saw a reference from a reviewer, but not from Kol. I hope I'm not wrong. Surely, a season one means a season two?
