Sunday experiments

Hi, everyone (or anyone!) I've been experimenting with Goodreads. This is my first blog, and I begin with trepidation as I have a tendency to put my foot in my mouth. Oh, if only there was an editor for my everyday life! So, I'll start with something innocuous. Went to Home Depot today, then Costco to buy watermelons. All the other stores were out. What's the deal with watermelons all of a sudden. Is there a shortage or something? Anyway, going to Costco on Sunday to buy one item is never a good idea, and Home Depot on a beautiful 80-degree breezy Sunday wasn't that good an idea, either. But I got my flowers and planted them, so the patio and my front entryway look great. How did you spend your Sunday?

Anna Crickets! I know, not that exciting a post. You'd think a writer would have a better handle on this kind of thing, right? I work a full time job besides writing, so I'm usually pretty exhausted. And I'm currently making an afghan for the son of a friend who's getting married in August. The plate is very full.

Anna I'm watching So You Think YOu Can Dance and getting no writing done at all. Dancing fascinates me, probably because I fall over walking a straight line, completely wine-free. It's the audition phase, which is totally the best part because you see the most amazing things. The last guy just did something called whacking. Yeah, seriously. Whacking involves a lot of crazy arm movements (all above the waist) and the whole gamut of dramatic facial expressions. Who says there's nothing on television?

Anna It's Sunday again. No big surprise, right? Sunday seems to be my blogging day. The week is crazy so I rarely get to my website, Facebook page, or here. The weather was beautiful here in Michigan, so I did lawnwork and skimmed the pool three times. Ugh, cottonwood season! Weeded, trimmed my roses-and I have the scratches to prove it. Happy father's day to all the dad's out there. I lost mine in March, but I know he's still watching over me. Have a great week!

Anna Here it is, Sunday again. I'm getting excited and nervous for my second Windfall Island novel--Hideaway Cove--which is being released on 7/29. But enough about that. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones on the Malaysia Airlines flight that was shot down over Ukraine last week. I hope those involved will see their way clear to try to understand the heartbreak and do the humane thing for the families left behind.
