Dreams do come true!
Hi everyone,
I pray this finds you all well and happy. Today I would like to encourage those who are walking through life feeling like they have no purpose except to work, pay bills, eat, sleep and do it all over again tomorrow to do something new! Some dream of being a mother, or pastor, maybe a teacher or doctor and yes an author. If you have said, “One day I will be….!” then you have a dream! I say it’s time to live something other than the mundane.
I was one of those very people. I have been saying since I was a young girl, “One day I will be an author!” It has always been my dream to write, but as I grew up life happened. I became a wife and mother and those are both full time jobs, but still the passion to be what I wanted to be never left. Sure, I would shove it to the side, put it on the back-burner and even say “One of these days!” just to appease the nagging feeling that I was missing my true calling in life.
So, one day I just said to myself, “Self, it’s time to do what makes you happy.” Please don’t misunderstand me, being a wife and a mother is awesome to say the least, but that passion I share with the loves of my life, it is not solely for me. Doing what I want just for me, may sound selfish, but my whole life is about meeting others needs and I decided that life is to short to live with regrets after the sudden and tragic loss of my father. I knew then that I can and I will have it all….. so to speak!
I put my fingers to work and finally got one of the million stories entertaining this brain of mine on a daily basis on the computer. I fooled around with the story line for Dreams, before my father passed and after he died I all but gave up my dream. Almost a year later I just said enough, sat down at the computer and went to work. A few months later Dreams, book one of The Burning Trilogy was born. I sat on it for a while not believing it was good enough to be “read” worthy. My precious husband said if it’s your dream just go for it, what’s the worst that could happen? UHHHHHH total humiliation, rejection and being laughed at when someone sees inside your head when they read your work, that’s what!!!!
Still, he had a point and with the support of my wonderful family, I started the proses of getting published. God and my family saw me through some hard times and set backs, (just a side note…..there will always be set backs and naysayers…. don’t give up and do it anyway!) and here I am, a proud, published author! WoooHooo! I believe we can do anything, God made us that way. He didn’t make a whole bunch of underachievers, He made us to be champions and champs can do all things they set their hearts too! Why your heart? Because, that is where the dream He deposited in you lives and so does He, if you believe!
This girl right here, writing to you says, “YOU CAN DO IT! GO FOR IT AND LIVE YOUR DREAM!” I hate to sound cliché, but dreams really do come true and I’m living proof of that! So, I encourage you to go for it and never look back. So what if someone says your crazy or yeah right with that infamous eye-roll when you tell them that your gonna live your dream! Do it anyway! Do it for you, do it so you can live without regret. Leave your mark on this great big world and live loud! Even if only one person is affected by what you do, it is worth it. Peter didn’t know if he could walk on water, until he got out of the boat! Take that first step, it might be a huge jump,(It was for me) but I can tell you looking back…….IT WAS WORTH IT AND SO ARE YOU!
